China’s National Lottery sales in February 2023 increased by 86.0% year-on-year, reaching a total of 41.810 billion yuan. The sales of welfare lottery institutions and sports lottery institutions showed significant year-on-year increases of 44.2% and 115.9%, respectively. Lotto digital lottery sales accounted for 31.8% of the total lottery sales, followed by guessing lottery sales at 46.7%. Instant lottery sales and Keno lottery sales accounted for 16.1% and 5.4%, respectively. From January to February, the total national lottery sales reached 75.032 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40.8%. Lottery sales increased in all provinces, with Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shandong showing the highest year-on-year increase. Lottery organizations should monitor and analyze new situations and problems, strengthen distribution and sales, and ensure the smooth operation of the market. Financial departments should also promote sustainable and healthy development of the lottery industry by creating a favorable external environment and maintaining market order.
